November Heatmap: Where to Eat Right Now

View as Map

Winter is just around the corner, but there is plenty of heat in the Detroit and Metro Detroit dining scene.Unlike that more stable of standbys, the Eater 38, the Heatmap aims to be more current as it catches wind of the newest, most popular places to eat and drink each month, and November's map is full of newbies and some old standbys with new tricks.

November's map features Detroit's newest darling, La Feria was a clear choice for the list, but Detroit's pickings were overall slim compared to October as many anticipated restaurants (think Mo Better Blues and Rubbed) are still waiting to open. Fortunately the 'burbs stepped it up as Birmingham offered up the brand new Market North End and Ferndale's standbys took advantage of the lull to elbow their way onto the list or at least hang on to their spot.

Had a less-than happy experience at one of these places? Been somewhere else that feels worthy of high praise and popular approval? Drop us a note on our tipline or leave your thoughts below. We know you will.

The newest Birmingham hot spot just opened two weeks ago, but the owners are veterans with strong ties (both professional and familial) to Salvatore Scallopini and Luxe. Their "inventive" American food had Molly Abraham offering a solid 3 of 4 stars already. Not bad for such a new spot. [Photo]
