It’s fair to say that the pandemic has made it more challenging to host celebrations like birthday parties and graduations. Fortunately, many bakeries in the area have found ways to continue serving customers their creative cakes, cookies, pastries, and breads from a safe social distance. Below, Eater has compiled a guide to spots that are open (or imminently opening) for service and how to get ahold of the goods. They include places like Rose’s Fine Food, which launched online ordering for a weekly bread and wine club in addition to making cakes. Others like Good Cakes and Bakes, are pivoting to delivery and curbside carryout of fresh cinnamon rolls and pound cake.
Hours may be slightly different post-pandemic. Make sure to call ahead or check social media if you’re not sure. And please — for the safety of yourself, other customers, and employees — stay home when you’re sick, wash your hands frequently, wear a mask over your nose and mouth, and respect social distancing measures by maintaining a distance of at least six feet from other people.
