With the exception of our copious waterways and lakeshores, metro Detroit is pretty much landlocked. But despite this undeniable fact, more and more restaurant are embracing the magic of fresh oysters and rolls stuffed with seafood. Below, Eater has compiled a guide to our favorite spots for both fresh and fried seafood rolls and po’ boys right now. From the extended season Maine lobster roll at Mudgie’s Deli to the spicy shrimp po’boys at Brush Street Bar & Grille, all of these spots offer carryout and delivery and a few are doing some limited form of seated service.

A number of metro Detroit restaurants have resumed dine-in service. The level of service offered is indicated on each map point. However, this should not be taken as endorsement for dining in, as there are still safety concerns: For updated information on coronavirus cases in your area, please visit the state of Michigan’s coronavirus tracker. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
