Sure the Lions didn't make it this time around, but is that really going to keep you from tuning into Super Bowl LI? Whether you're dying to see the Patriots face-off with the Falcons or your just there for the commercials, Super Bowl Sunday is prime time for loading up on nachos, wings, and all other manner of calorie-crammed deliciousness. With February 5 just around the corner, here's a handy guide to game day dining and drinking options in and around Detroit.

Catering/Pre-Gaming:

  • Union Street is serving a pre-game brunch from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday with $1 PBRs and Stroh's drafts, plus half-off wings.
  • C.A.Y.A. Smokehouse Grill in Walled Lake is offering catering packages with smoked chicken wings, pulled pork, chopped brisket, mac & cheese, burnt ends chili, and more.
  • Detroit Wing Co. is offering carryout boneless wings, chicken tenders, homemade coleslaw, and potato salad from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Located inside the MGM Grand, TAP sports bar offers a relaxed dining atmosphere in a pub dedicated to sports. From top to bottom, TAP is decorated in memorabilia and offers 60 flat screen TVs, so you’ll be hard pressed to miss a touchdown. On Sunday, the kitchen plans to serve up specials including Georgia Brunswick stew and New England fried clams. At the close of each quarter, the restaurant will be giving away prizes.
