Some say a fine wine gets better with age. Others might say the flavor improves when it's half the price. With that mentality, a small assemblage of bars and restaurants in the metro Detroit area regularly offer up half priced wine nights and discount pours. Wednesdays are particularly popular for — well you probably know why.

Some spots specialize in catering to the everyday oenophile, some serve up bubbly, and others are simply here to satisfy that occasional need for an after-work inexpensive glass of adult grape juice. Here are seven spots around town to spare some of your precious drinking money with a half-off glass or bottle.

The specials run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday in the bar-only.
