Shake Shack, the buzzy burger chain, plans to continue its expansion in the Mitten State with a fifth site in Rochester Hills.
The restaurant will set up shop at the Village of Rochester Hills, 104 N. Adams Rd., according to a release. It will include a 600-square-foot outdoor patio, and a walk-up window to pick up orders made via the app or website. The chain introduced the window in April 2020 at other locations to accommodate social distancing.

Michigan’s newest Shack, slated to open in the fall, will offer the traditional lineup of 100 percent Angus beef burgers, as well as fried chicken sandwiches, and flat-top grilled hot dogs.
The company opened its first Michigan location in downtown Detroit in 2017, with others to follow in Ann Arbor and in Troy, including one at the Somerset Collection food court. Since the chain opened its first restaurant in 2004 in New York City, it’s expanded to more than 300 locations, including in London, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Dubai, Tokyo, and Seoul.
Shake Shack will join a lineup of other eateries such as PF Chang, Chipotle, BRAVO! Italian Kitchen, Kruse & Muer, Mitchell’s Fish Market, the Jagged Fork, Starbucks, and Noodles & Co. at the Village.
