The chefs behind Gold Cash Gold are preparing to revive the restaurant’s popular brunch for a pop-up in West Village this week. Chefs Hailey Enszer and Brendon Edwards in collaboration with former Selden Standard pastry chef Lena Sareini will are now accepting limited reservations for brunch on Agnes Street on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11.
Reservations can now be made on Instagram, by messaging the handle @chef_brendon_edwards with a name, number, email address, and number of people in the party (up to four people per group). Make sure to include a preferred reservation time between 10 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. Each seating lasts an hour and 15 minutes.

The team will be following COVID-19 precautions including sanitizing every 20 minutes. The pop-up asks customers to wear a mask when out of their seats and when in close contact with a server and asks that groups keep six feet of distance between themselves and other parties. If there’s a group in the lobby (presumably of the old Craft Work restaurant), the chefs ask that parties wait outside. Likewise, customers are asked to monitor their health and stay home if they are sick or think they may be sick.
Gold Cash Gold closed on Sunday, February 2 after five years in Corktown, citing the financial challenges stemming from increased competition, a lack of weeknight foot traffic, and the cancelation of the North American Auto Show — previously held each winter.
Six-year-old Craft Work closed on Saturday, March 7, citing similar financial challenges. The space was also listed for sale, but the O’Connor listing now reads “under contract,” suggesting that the chefs may have more permanent plans for the space.
