The Huddle soft serve stand with its swirly ice cream cones and colorful sprinkles has been a wonderful departure from the strangeness of 2020. But now that the weather is getting colder, the downtown Detroit walk-up window is preparing to shake things up for winter by trading frozen treats for hot broth.
Beginning Sunday, November 1, Huddle will begin serving broth prepared in collaboration with Southwest Detroit’s Johnny Noodle King. The broth bowls will be available through the end of February 2021, per a release. The window plans to offer three different kinds of broth — pork, chicken, or vegetarian — in 12-ounce cups with a choice of mix-in. The mix-in flavors include options like burnt garlic miso and smoked butter.
Each cup will be priced at $6 and available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. As for folks who still want dessert, Huddle will continue to sell pints of soft serve to-go.
