Japanese-influenced pastry shop preps for opening
Anticipated Japanese-influenced bakery and cafe White Wolf Patisserie is opening on Thursday, September 12 in Clawson, according to the Detroit News. The 40-seat shop located on the same block as Noble Fish will offer items like milk bread, red bean paste-filled anpan bread, and cakes such as strawberry shortcake, chocolate chiffon cake, and tiramisu. In addition to sweets, the shop will serve coffee and espresso drinks as well as savory items like egg sandwiches.
Poke heads to Rochester Hills
A new poke shop is now open in Rochester Hills. Sushi San soft opened in August and hosted its grand opening on Saturday, September 7 in 147 W Auburn Rd. in the former Sushi Coup space, Crain’s reports. The menu features build-your-own poke bowls as well as sushi rolls and poke tacos.
Ginopolis owners start next chapter with barbecue
The owners of the shuttered Ginopolis Restaurant in Farmington Hills have started a new project in Brighton. Restaurateur Peter Ginopolis tells the Livingston Daily that he plans to open Ginopolis’ Bar-BQ & Speakeasy at 201 W. Main St. by the end of September.
Nestle shutters Michigan plant
Nestle plans to close down a plant in Plymouth this year, laying off 57 workers in sales and delivery departments, according to Crain’s. The company is currently restructuring to ship to warehouses rather than directly to grocery stores.
