Developers pitch new mixed-use project next to Detroit Shipping Company
A group of developers, some of whom are involved in the Detroit Shipping Company, are looking to add a mixed-use development on Peterboro Street in a parking lot next to the food hall, Crain’s reports. If approved by the city, the three-story building would likely feature retail, offices, and, possibly, a brewery. The goal, according to Detroit Shipping Company co-founder Jonathan Hartzell, would be to extend the food hall’s liquor license to the new building, allowing customers to move back and forth between both spaces. The Cass Corridor area is already home to multiple breweries including Traffic Jam & Snug, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria & Brewery, Founders Brewing Company, and the forthcoming Nain Rouge Brewery.
