New bar and restaurant is heading to Six Mile
Jevona Watson, the owner of Bagley-based cafe Detroit Sip, is partnering with fiancée Ernest Smith in a new development on McNichols road that will include a bar and restaurant, Model D reports. Sips on Six will be located inside a 6,000-square-foot building with a 40-foot-long bar. The menu is still in the development phase but will likely include items like salmon and lamb chops.
A sneak peek at a new Corktown restaurant
Mink, a new restaurant and wine bar filling the Farmer’s Hand space in Corktown, is hosting a preview dinner at Frame in Hazel Park on Friday, September 6. Chef Cameron Rolka’s menu for the evening include seafood and vegetable platters, savory buckwheat blinis with sturgeon caviar, and more. The cost is $60 in addition to tax and service fees. An optional wine pairing is available as well as a la carte beer, wine, and cocktails.
A summer seafood boil in Ferndale
The team from Voyager is bringing a low country boil to Urbanrest Brewing Company in Ferndale from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. The menu features gulf shrimp, Maryland blue crab, steamer clams, Farm Field Table sausage, sweet corn and potatoes, and more. The cost is $50 pre-sale or $62.50 at the door.
Breakfast restaurant adds booze
Rose’s Fine Food’s liquor license is in full effect starting this weekend. The restaurant transferred the liquor license from indefinitely delayed Polish concept Poppies. Customers can expect a variety of breakfast cocktails as well as beer and wine.
Roadhouse restaurant hits Birmingham in August
A second outpost of the Morrie is slated to arrive in Birmingham next month. The restaurant, which features options like loaded tater tots, Detroit-style pizza, and Nashville hot chicken, is on track to open by Thursday, August 15, according to Crain’s.
