A new breakfast restaurant hits Livernois this fall

Northwest Detroit’s Avenue of Fashion district is gaining another breakfast restaurant in September. The Sweet Cafe, a former waffle cafe in Redford Township, is relocating to 20236 Livernois Ave. near Baker’s Keyboard Lounge, Crain’s reports. Owner Kimyana Reece plans to offer fancy waffles in flavors like caramel pecan. There will also be frozen custard and, most importantly, waffle ice cream sandwiches.

Rooftop nightclub opens in Greektown

The owners of Rochester’s the Meeting House and Royal Oak’s Hamlin Corner and Pronto have teamed up to open a restaurant and rooftop nightclub in the building formerly home to Santorini Estiatorio, according to Crain’s. The nightclub dubbed Delmar Detroit debuts on Friday, June 28. The first floor restaurant, whose name Friend & Associate sounds like a law office, is expected to open in mid-July with Greek dishes as well as pierogi, steak, and duck fat fries.
