Wildly popular Detroit vegan soft serve stand Cold Truth has officially signed a lease for a new location in Cass Corridor. The summer ice cream pop-up will land in the former Fresh101 space at 4240 Cass Ave #100 next to Asian mini mart and bubble tea shop Tou & Mai and Go! Sy Thai.
At 540-square-feet, the second Cold Truth will be nearly as tiny as its original in Eastern Market outpost. Co-founder Timothy Mahoney tells Eater the new location will feature a similar format with a walk-up window serving organic dairy soft serve and vegan soft serve options with handmade waffle cones. Cold Truth also hopes to use the address as “a micro production facility” for the brand. More details on the timeline for the Cass Corridor opening and the design of the shop will be finalized in the next few weeks. Mahoney previously anticipated a mid-to-late summer opening for the location.
In the meantime, fans of Cold Truth can find the brand’s soft serve behind Trinosophes in Eastern Market. The stand opens in the evenings from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Trinosophes has also extended its hours into the evenings.
Stay tuned for more updates on the project as it moves forward.
