The latest (and highest) in a string of new metro Detroit rooftop bar projects is set to open this month. The Monarch Club, perched atop the Metropolitan Building, is prepared to start taking advantage of the downtown Detroit skyline and mild weather on Saturday, May 11, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Located on the 13th floor of the Element Hotel, the 150-seat space features fire pit-filled outdoor terraces and indoor dining space with leather upholstered couches and plush banquettes. Visitors will be able to sip a variety of cocktails at the bar including two tapped cocktails. Monarch will also serve beer and wine. Chef Jared Bobkin, a Hell’s Kitchen alum who previously helped open Bourbons in Brighton, is helming the kitchen. Diners can expect items like meatballs and burnt-end poutine priced between $5 and $18, Crain’s reports.
The bar will open daily from 4 p.m. to midnight in the evenings to hotel patrons and the general public.
