Local roaster Anthology Coffee is bidding farewell to its original location in Corktown this week as the cafe prepares to relocate to a bigger space in Eastern Market. The shop has operated in a space at the base of the shared work space Ponyride since 2012 and is expected to reopen in a 2,900-square-foot shop at 1948 Division St. very soon. Today is the last day the shop will be open to the public.

The move comes just a few weeks after the Ponyride building sold for $3.3 million. The non-profit is expected to move operations to Core City.

The minimalist Eastern Market edition of Anthology is being designed by owner Josh Longsdorf. Once it’s complete the space will feature approximately 42 seats with two 18-foot-long coffee bars, a patio area, and larger area for roasting coffee beans.

Longsdorf signed a letter of intent back in 2017 on the Eastern Market address and says he’s eagerly awaiting the move. He tells Eater the cafe is on track to open in its new location within the next month and may host a preview this Saturday. Stay tuned for more updates.
