Milkweed Inn’s First Season in the Upper Peninsula Sold Out in Less Than 48 Hours

Less than two days after opening reservations for their rustic Upper Peninsula vacation compound the Milkweed Inn, chef Iliana Regan and wife Anna Hamlin have a completely full reservation book for summer 2019.

Regan, who owns Michelin-starred Elizabeth and Japanese pub Kitsune in Chicago, confirmed to Eater on Saturday that reservations were open and were already half sold-out. As of Sunday, February 24, all reservations for the weekends-only Milkweed Inn experience were booked for August and September 2019. The inn is now taking names for a waitlist at themilkweedinn@gmail.com.

The Milkweed Inn is located in Nahma Township near the Hiawatha National Forest on a 150-acre wooded property. The property has space to host up to 10 guests each weekend during the summer season. Visitors stay overnight in either a cabin room, “glamping” tent, or an Airstream trailer. Prices ranged between $1,100 and $1,400 depending on the accommodations. The all-inclusive experience includes a casual dinner on Friday, a bigger Saturday dinner, and a light breakfast on Sunday morning with access to the grounds and outdoor equipment throughout the weekend. All of the meals will be prepared by Regan and Hamlin using items foraged in the area, grown on the property, or produced locally.

Looking into summer 2020, Regan and Hamlin intend to open the property to a limited number of larger events such as weddings.
