Gastropub expansion

Detroit-based gastropub chain Bobcat Bonnie’s is rounding out the year with the announcement of yet another new location. Owner Matt Buskard intends to take over a Max and Erma’s location at the Mall at Partridge Creek in February 2020. Buskard teased a potential location in Partridge Creek to Eater over the summer. He’s also considering locations in Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Toledo. This fall, Bonnie’s expanded to downtown Ypsilanti.

Detroit has a nightlife ambassador

Adrian Tonon, whose family owns Cafe Cortina, is the City of Detroit’s acting 24-hour economy ambassador. Alongside meeting with international dignitaries and giving out awards to restaurant employees, Tanon’s job involves driving through “Detroit entertainment districts, monitoring the noise levels with a decibel meter app on his phone,” according to Hour Detroit.
