Brewery adds cafe in Ferndale
Alechemy Room recently debuted at the base of the Woodward Avenue Brewers building in Ferndale, Metro Times reports. Alechemy serves as a coffee shop and taproom with WAB beers, espresso drinks, and a small selection of sandwiches.
Customers leave without paying huge bill at Troy restaurant
Management at a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Troy reported an incident on November 9 involving a group of six customers. Police say they were called to the scene after a fight broke out among the patrons, but by the time officials arrived the group had left, according to the Oakland Press. Restaurant management learned that the customers had walked out on a $690 bill.
Ax-throwing venue opens next month in Macomb County
Detroit Axe is preparing to open the doors at its second outpost, this time in Macomb County. The ax-throwing bar will open in December in a 3,700-square-foot at the Mall at Partridge Creek. The mall is also anticipating the opening of Burger Fin, a burger and sushi restaurant, in January.
Boots and coat drive at pizzeria
Sicily’s Pizza in Detroit is hosting a boots and coats drive supporting Matrix Human Services now through the end of 2019. The restaurant will be collecting gently used and new coats and winter boots for children 5 and under inside the pizza shop. Customers who donate will receive pizza for 50 percent-off.
Sushi takeover in Corktown
Longtime Saturday night Jamaican pop-up Irie Occasions has moved on from Brooklyn Street Local to open a forthcoming restaurant Flavors of Jamaica in Pontiac. Dr. Sushi is now taking the pop-up spot on Saturday nights with Japanese food from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. weekly.
