A holiday feast without the hassle

Thanksgiving is a time to enjoy the company of family and friends, usually with a giant feast of turkey and all the trimmings. But many people just don’t have the desire, energy, space, or expertise to put together a big meal like that. Ann Arborites are fortunate to have several options so that they can leave the hard work — and eventual clean-up — to somebody else.

Zingerman’s Cornman Farms

8540 Island Lake Rd., Dexter | Website

Get an early start on the holiday by grabbing a spot at one of two seatings at Cornman Farms’ “Friendsgiving at the Farm” on Sunday, November 17th. The intimate farmhouse and restored barn is on an idyllic landscape in nearby Dexter. Cornman Farms also has a to-go menu featuring turkey, side dishes, wine, and tasty Zingerman’s baked goods. The menu also offers a roasted beef tenderloin for those looking to change things up. Ordering closes on Saturday, November 23.

Mediterrano

2900 South State St., Ann Arbor | Website

Mediterrano is a popular spot with an internationally influenced menu and an extensive wine list. For Thanksgiving, in addition to turkey, the restaurant is serving prime rib, salmon, and vegetarian paella — all dished up family-style and with Mediterranean twists throughout the courses.

Gandy Dancer

401 Depot St., Ann Arbor | Website

Housed in an sumptuously restored historic train depot, Gandy Dancer is adored by locals for its seafood, steak, and pasta dinners. In addition to a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, Gandy is offering a complete to-go package to enjoy in the comforts of home.

Arbor Brewing Company

114 E Washington St., Ann Arbor | Website

Ann Arbor’s oldest brewery is offering a Thanksgiving to-go package for smaller groups of 6 to 8 people, which also includes a deck of their euchre pilsner cards for some post-dinner fun. Beer pairs well with turkey, so make sure to grab a growler or two of Arbor’s famous brews. For every three meals sold, Arbor Brewing will donate a meal to Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels.

The Standard Bistro and Larder

The beautiful contemporary dining room at Standard Bistro is a great spot to enjoy classic French cuisine and eclectic cocktails. For Thanksgiving, the restaurant is rolling out a buffet featuring turkey, sides, and desserts.
