A gluten-free waffle brunch ramps up in Eastern Market
Eastern Market’s Anthology Coffee will start hosting a weekly waffle brunch on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning November 3. The menu features options like sweet waffles with berry compote and savory hash brown waffles. All of the food is gluten-free with a vegan option. There’s also plenty of coffee made with beans roasted in-house.
Brunch returns to Corktown bar
UFO Factory’s kitchen Laika Dog is reviving brunch beginning Sunday, November 9. The menu will feature corn cakes called Johnny cakes with toppings like powdered sugar and maple syrup or nacho cheese with bell peppers, avocado, and spicy vegan mayo. Diners can also look out for options like fried rice and waffle dogs.
RenCen restaurant complex confirms opening date
Restaurant and bar triad the Highlands in the Renaissance Center is set to open on Monday, November 18, according to Crain’s. Chef Scott Garthwaite will be heading up the restaurants and bars, which include Highlands Steakhouse, Hearth 71, and High Bar. The venue will also feature an events space.
