Another raw fish trend hits metro Detroit

Two years ago it was sushi burritos and now metro Detroit is (finally?) getting its next dose of trendy raw fish in the form of sushi doughnuts — basically sushi rolls formed into a ring. A new restaurant called Blu Bar Sushi is heading to 31225 Southfield Rd. in Beverly Hills and bringing this viral trend in sushi with it, according to the Detroit Free Press. Each sushi doughnut at the 40-seat spot will be filled with and surrounded by raw seafood and all the fixins. Blue Bar will also offer bento boxes.

Coffee shop fundraiser

Anthology Coffee is making a final push to meet its Kickstarter goal with two upcoming events. The first hosted at Batch Brewing Company in Corktown from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on August 6 where customers are invited to sign-up and pre-order Batch and Anthology’s collaboration sour coffee beer in exchange for a free sample bag of coffee. Batch will also donate $1 from eat sale of a certain beer that evening to the Kickstarter. From 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on August 8 supporters can visit Bon Bon Bon in Hamtramck to sip coffee cocktails and try a free coffee bon pairing.
