Deli plots suburban expansion

Hamtramck’s Delite Cafe & Deli is opening a new location in Ferndale. The popular sandwich shop is moving in next door to Maestros’ Dog Haus in the space previously home to Pranzo Sub Bar at 314 W. Nine Mile Rd. The sandwich shop mini chain also operates a location near Wayne State University.

Metro Detroit restaurant chain grows

The Joe Vicari Restaurant Group — owners of Joe Muer Seafood and Andiamo — is opening its ninth Andiamo location to Fenton. The restaurant will be located on the first floor of the Horizon Building at the corner of Silver Lake Road and N. Leroy St. in downtown Fenton, according to a release. The restaurant is expected to open this fall.

Iconic New York Wing restaurant expands to metro Detroit

Buffalo, New York-based restaurant chain Anchor Bar, which claims to have invented the original buffalo wing, is expanding to Rochester. The restaurant is heading to the former Famous Dave’s space at 2945 S. Rochester Rd.

Meals on wheels

Frankenmouth’s Bavarian Inn Restaurant is getting into the mobile restaurant business with the impending launch of its Cluck Truck. The food truck is expected to debut in July or August and will travel throughout the mitten toting Bavarian pretzels with mustard and cheese.
