Major Eastern Market restaurant buildings sell to new owners
The building that houses Bert’s Marketplace has once again changed hands. The building, which sold at auction for $1.9 million in 2015, was purchased by entities held by investors Linden and Sanford Nelson for $1.6 million. The pair also purchased the building housing Supino Pizzeria, Mootown Ice Cream Shoppe, Russell Street Deli, and Zeff’s Coney Island for a whopping $20 million. Fortunately, the new owners have no plans at this time to shakeup the business lineup in the buildings and the restaurants will continue to operate as normal.
