Rocco’s Starts Slinging Italian Sandwiches in Cass Corridor Today

Italian deli debuts today

After four long years of anticipation, Hatch Detroit 2014 semifinalist Rocco’s Italian Deli is finally opening its doors on Tuesday, June 12, at 3627 Cass Ave. in Cass Corridor. The deli counter and market will offer a variety of sandwiches including meatball subs, chicken parmesan, and pan fried mortadella with prepared food items like lasagna served from the deli case. Rocco’s even offers a bar with beer and wine.

Chain mashup will be fully operational at the end of June

Now open for breakfast-only, downtown Detroit’s IHOP/Applebee’s combination restaurant is expected to come completely online by June 26, according to the Detroit Free Press.

New Center lunch pop-up returns

Lunch pop-ups are coming back to the Fisher Building on Fridays. From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. now through September 28, workers in the New Center area can check out rotating food trucks, the Pot + Box flower truck, and an Eastern Market farm stand at the Fisher. The food trucks participating this year include Hero or Villain, Slows to Go, Mean Weenie, Norma G’s, Imperial, Stockyard, Louisiana Creole Gumbo, and more.
