True World Group, the parent company behind popular sushi spot Noble Fish and One World Market, is preparing for some major growth in southeast Michigan. On the docket: an expansion of Noble Fish’s sushi bar and market, a new Novi food hall, and two Japanese-style bakeries.
Clawson’s small Asian market and back-of-store sushi bar Noble Fish is taking over more space on its block stretching along 14 Mile Road, per the city of Clawson. The additions are expected to provide some relief for the often packed sushi bar and carryout area.
Meanwhile, the city of Novi has approved the sale of a 10-acre property for a new development dubbed “Asian Village,” according to Crain’s. The development — still in the early planning stages — would feature a 25,000-square-foot marketplace from True World Group with retail, a karaoke bar, and a variety of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese restaurants.
The news comes just a few weeks after chef Doran Brooks announced plans to open two locations of True World Group’s first Japanese-style bakery White Wolf Japanese Patisserie in Novi and Clawson. White Wolf was previously slated to take over Pastry House Hippo in Novi but the deal fell through. White Wolf will offer options like milk breads with read bean paste, strawberry shortcake, and tiramisu-cracker jack sundaes alongside coffee and espresso drinks, Hometown Life reports. The bakeries are anticipating fall openings at locations near Noble Fish and One World Market.
