The always-adorable roving Hello Kitty Cafe is motoring back into metro Detroit this month peddling a fresh batch of treats themed after Sanrio’s iconic kawaii feline character. The van is set to roll back to Great Lakes Crossing Outlets (4000 Baldwin Rd.) near the AMC Theater in Auburn Hills from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, according to release.
In addition to limited edition Hello Kitty Cafe swag, the cafe will be selling boxes of Hello Kitty macarons, petit fours, giant cookies, and pocket pies. The cult of the cartoon cat has a tendency to draw crowds, so fans pining for specific items should plan accordingly.
The truck was Sanrio’s first foray into the food world and originally hit the streets in October 2014. It’s been touring the country ever since slinging ultra cute baked goods and confections. The brand has also branched out into permanent “mini cafes” at shopping malls in Southern California and even restaurant promotions featuring Sanrio’s other beloved character, Gudetama the lazy egg.
