Breakfast sandwich slinger debuts in Capitol Park

Lovers Only’s walk-up window Iggy’s Eggies opened on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. with a limited hot breakfast menu. The list of offerings includes breakfast sandwiches served on brioche, english muffins, or biscuits with optional hash browns and Roos Roast coffee. More items will be added soon. Eater has reached out for more details on the hours going forward.

Police charge local dive bar owner in crime scheme

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office charged four people with running a retail fraud scheme out of the Cas Bar in Detroit. Bar owner Beverly “Mama Jo” Sassin was characterized as the leader of the operation, with police alleging that she and her associates were paying heroin addicts to steal merchandise from big box stores for resale out of the bar. Police are working to shut down the bar.

Up for grabs

The owner of Dino’s Lounge and M-Brew is looking to cash out of his Ferndale businesses as he moves on to a new project up north. Each of the restaurants is listed for $2.35 million, according to Oakland County Times.

Juice bar swings open on Friday in downtown

Juice cleanse retailer Drought is opening its new location inside the Shinola Hotel on Friday, as the property ramps up to an opening later this month. The shop was previously located at Chrysler House in downtown Detroit and confirmed it was relocating in October. The company also shuttered locations in Ann Arbor and Birmingham in November.

Ann Arbor expansions

The long-awaited location of Jim Brady’s in Ann Arbor is scheduled to open on December 10 at 209 S. Main St., MLive reports. The 7,000- square-foot, three-story bar and restaurant features a 1950s aesthetic. Another location of the Jim Brady’s brand is slated to open across the street from the Peterboro in Cass Corridor.
