Small-batch distillery Traverse City Whiskey Co. will be part of the reopening of Italian restaurant Como’s. The company will add a tasting room to the restaurant’s lineup.
Peas & Carrots Hospitality dropped more than $3 million this spring to buy up the 8,000-square-foot piece of Ferndale restaurant real estate this past spring. The group owned by chef Zack Sklar, Jim Bellinson, and Josh Humphrey surprisingly decided to keep the name of the 66-year-old Italian dining fixture, which closed permanently due to ongoing food safety violations last year.
The group will give the restaurant a fresh look through a full renovation and will serve a similar-but-updated Italian-American menu with a focus on pizzas and craft beers. Traverse City Whiskey Co. will add classic cocktails of bottles of whiskey.
More information on the new Como’s will be made available closer to the spring 2019 opening.
