Bikes & Coffee Delivers on Its Name

Take a tour of the new Woodbridge shop

Caffeine addicts and cyclists can now mingle at Bikes & Coffee at 1521 Putnam St.

The space features a centrally located, rectangular coffee bar with counters built by local skate park company Ramped Construction. Bikes & Coffee serves pour-overs and espresso drinks made with Hyperion Coffee as well as teas. The shop also offers bagels from Detroit Institute of Bagels.

The space is very much a bike shop, but with a comfortable couch and window seats to chill out with a cup of coffee. Plants soften the space — and course, every modern espresso shop must have a fiddle-leaf fig in the corner.

Take a tour around Bike & Coffee here to scope out which seats might be the best or what sort of bike gear the store carries. Eater photographers Michelle and Chris Gerard visited the space earlier this week and share the pictures here.
