Christmas-Themed Pop Up Bar Brings Liquid Holiday Cheer to Detroit This Winter

It’s still way too early to be thinking about the holidays (or even pumpkin spice for that matter), but bartenders around the world are already plotting a coup of liquid holiday cheer. New York City-based seasonal pop-up bar Miracle is expanding this winter to 50 cities worldwide including Detroit. The Belt alley’s now four season-ready bar The Skip will transform into a winter wonderland complete with kitschy Christmas decor and themed cocktails from November 24 through December 24.

The month-long Miracle pop-up menu features holiday-themed drinks such as the Snowball Old Fashioned (gingerbread bourbon, wormwood bitters, lemon zest), the How The Gimlet Stole Christmas (gin, sage, pine and caraway cordial), and the Run Run Rudolph (blanco tequila, coffee liqueur, iced hot chocolate, Mexican spices). Beverages will be served in special Miracle glassware.

Miracle was developed four years ago by founder Greg Boehm, owner of the cocktail bar Mace in New York’s East Village. At the suggestion of his mother, Boehm stopped construction on the then-unopened bar and decked it out with festive decor and holiday-centric drinks. The pop-up became a hit and soon expanded to other bars throughout world such as The Big Apple in Atlanta and Nexus Bar in Montreal.

This will be Miracle’s first time in the Motor City. Expect plenty of ribbons, garlands, and a holiday soundtrack. Scope out the full menu of seasonal libations below.
