Kid Rock Is Bringing the Restaurant No One Asked For to the Little Caesars Arena

As if it wasn’t enough that he’s headlining the first six shows at the Little Caesars Arena, the Detroit Free Press reports that Southeast Michigan-born musician Kid Rock has officially bequeathed his name to a restaurant inside the forthcoming Little Caesars Arena.

Companies associated with Kid Rock (non-stage name is Robert Ritchie), filed for trademarks of “Kid Rock's Made in Detroit Bar & Grill” in July, sparking rumors that a possible restaurant was in the works.

The 5,800-square-foot food and beverage project called Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit restaurant will naturally feature loads of Kid Rock memorabilia and seat roughly 230 people, according to a release. The stadium establishment is expected to remain open to the general public during and outside of regular events hours. It will also host live music.

The menu at Made in Detroit, a reference to the country-rap-rock star’s Made in Detroit apparel brand, will serve a mixture of “classic Detroit- and Southern-influenced dishes” as well as local beer and cocktails. It should be noted that Rock has a fondness for using Confederate flags on stage, causing some to call on the Little Caesars Arena to cancel his performances in the wake of recent deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville.

In addition the Kid Rock restaurant, Little Caesars Arena food and beverage partner Delaware North revealed plans for The District Market, a 7,600-square-foot food hall-esque establishment featuring cocktails, Zingerman’s coffee, build-your-own salads, burgers, burritos, and pastries.

Earlier this month, the pizzarena developers Ilitch Holdings confirmed two more food and beverage projects — an “artisan-style pizza kitchen” inspired by Little Caesars founder Mike Ilitch and sports bar called Sports & Social Detroit. The stadium opens on September 12.
