La Dulce Reopens in Crowne Plaza With Touches of Whimsy

Teacup chandeliers

Spanish tapas spot La Dulce left its Main Street location in Royal Oak and settled into a new 7,000-square-foot space inside the Crowne Plaza Detroit Downtown Riverfront Hotel formerly home to The Jefferson House.

The updated address features a 70-seat dining room, 20-seat bar, and 25-seat outdoor patio. La Dulce also added breakfast and lunch service, and with the more expansive kitchen can now offer bigger plates like suckling pig and sharable paella.

The new La Dulce aesthetic follows that of the original with tall, white shelving, fanciful decorations, white lounge furniture, and large teacup-adorned chandeliers.

Here, Eater photographers Michelle and Chris Gerard take a tour around the recently reopened restaurant.

La Dulce sits at 2 Washington Blvd and opens daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. with the bar saying open to midnight on Sunday through Wednesday and until 2 a.m. on Thursday through Saturday.
