Scope Out the Killer Food Lineup for Corktown Strut’s Arts and Music Festival

Music, arts, and food festival Corktown Strut is gearing up for a second year of summer mayhem in Detroit’s oldest neighborhood. In addition to hosting more than 60 live music acts, festival organizer Forward Arts Detroit is expanding the 2017 food lineup with 12 area restaurants, plus pop-ups and DJ performances by local chefs.

The food festival runs from June 26 through July 2, with restaurants including Ima, Batch Brewing Co., and PJ’s Lager House serving off-menu items. The main music festival is 21+ only and takes place on June 30 and July 1 at five Corktown venues (Dean Savage Park, UFO Factory, PJ's Lager House, and Mudgie’s on Saturday only; McShane's Pub and Two James Tasting Room on Friday only). Batch Brewing Co., Stroh’s, Two James Spirits, Cabresto Tequila, and Wolf Moon Mixers are all supplying beer and cocktails at the main stage in Dean Savage Park. Ceviche: (shrimp, scallops, crab, spicy tomato mixture, tortilla chips)

Bahn Mi Bolillo: (vegetarian option with pickled veggies, jalapeno, cilantro, radish, mushrooms, and spicy mayo. Add shrimp $3, Add chicken or pork belly $2)

June 27

Detroit Music Magazine presents Broiler Room: Dr. Sushi and Satoshi Ramen will serve sushi. DJs Pure Rave (Nick George and Bryan Delaney), Shan Beaste, Ryan Spencer and Max Daley are performing. June 28

Detroit Electronic Quarterly Chef DJing Event: DJs turned chefs and restauranteurs Mike Ransom (Ima) and Greg Mudge (Mudgie's) will be performing live. Details: 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Two James (2445 Michigan Ave.)

June 29

Corktown Farmer's Market: Restaurant and market The Farmer’s Hand will be hosting the last Corktown Farmers Market of the season with produce, herbs, and flowers from local growers. Details: 4 p.m to 7 p.m. at The Farmer’s Hand (1701 Trumbull Ave.)
