Bolero Latin Cuisine Will Fill Mid City Grill Space in Midtown

The owner of Vicente’s Cuban Cuisine in downtown Detroit is reportedly preparing to open a new restaurant in Midtown. Vicente Vazquez has taken over the shuttered Mid City Grill space at 51 W. Forest Avenue near Woodward and is in the process of transforming it into a new Latin American eatery, according to Crain’s.

Dubbed Bolero Latin Cuisine, the restaurant will is expected to expand beyond Cuban dishes into regional South American food. Chef Roberto Caceres’ menu will draw on flavors from Peru, Argentina, Brazil, and beyond.

The restaurant will seat around 150 guests and is expected to debut this summer. Eater has reached out for more details. Stay tuned for updates.
