Axle Brewing Company’s hotly anticipated Ferndale brewpub, Livernois Tap, is set to debut this on June 3, according to a release. The new taproom, brewery, and biergarten complex features a full menu developed by Four Man Ladder — the team behind Brush Park’s Grey Ghost restaurant.

Axle worked with Detroit-based firm Patrick Thompson Design on the look and feel of the Livernois Tap. The brewpub occupies a sprawling 10,000-square-foot building at 567 Livernois Avenue and features a 65-seat outdoor biergarten with a 7-foot fireplace and adirondack chairs.

Inside the taphouse seats 30 at the bar with 80 additional seats in the dining room. The wood floors in the main dining area are flanked by murals and art from Detroit Wood Type Co. The interior incorporates blue paints, brass, white oak, and flannel details into its design. Axle also operates a 10-barrel brewing system on-site.

Patrons can look forward to between 12 and 15 Axle Brewing Co. beers and ciders on tap drawing from the company’s flagship lineup alongside seasonal and special releases.

Chef Joe Giacomino and John Vermiglio selected chef Reid Shipman (previously sous chef at Gold Cash Gold) to run the day-to-day operations at the Livernois Tap’s kitchen. Together the trio have developed a beer-friendly menu with dishes like fried bologna corn dogs, “crispy animal parts” (fried rinds from several types of animals seasoned with spices), half-chickens, and buffalo fried green tomatoes. Diners can wrap-up their meal with a beer float for dessert. Scope out the full beer and food menus below:

Livernois Tap opens at 4 p.m. on June 3; located at 567 Livernois Ave.; regular hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Website.
