Canada’s very own gravy and cheese curd-slathered fry company Smoke’s Poutinerie will debut its first Michigan location on June 4 in Ann Arbor. The restaurant chain confirmed the launched date today on Facebook.

The Ann Arbor restaurant is located at 1300 S University Ave. in the former World of Beer space. The new outpost will seat around 65 patrons with an additional 70 seats on the patio. It’s expected to feature a new bar franchise somewhat unfortunately dubbed The Beaver Trap that will offer roughly 50 beers on tap.

Smoke’s offers around 30 rotating varieties of gravy fries on its menu from Philly cheesesteak poutine to butter chicken flavored poutine. The new Ann Arbor location is aiming to capture late-night crowds by remaining open until 3 a.m.

The chain’s Midwest franchisees announced their intentions to bring even more poutine restaurants to Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana over the next few years and are reportedly exploring potential locations in Detroit and Lansing.

Smoke's operates 100 locations in Canada and in 2015 began its U.S. expansion starting with San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. The gravy fry chain is also slated to expand into Maryland.

Smoke’s Poutinerie is located at 1300 S University Ave; the restaurant will open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on June 4 with specials throughout the grand opening weekend (June 9 through June 11).
