Anheuser-Busch has struck a deal with the new home of the Detroit Red Wings. International beer giant has secured sponsorship rights to three bars within the the forthcoming Little Caesar Arena and Bud Light will be the new stadium’s “official domestic beer,” according to a release.
The three hockey arena beer stations include a Budweiser Biergarten outside the northwest entrance, a Goose Island Pub on the main level concourse, and a Bud Light bar on the upper level concourse.
The biergarten appears to be the most expansive of the bars. It’s expected feature a “spacious patio and lawn area” with “beautiful, glass-enclosed, four-season pavilion bar with a retractable roof to accommodate various functions and all types of weather.” The Budweiser Biergarten will be available during ticketed events (presumably Red Wings hockey games and concerts) as well as for private events rentals.
While one can expect that there will be plenty of Hot-n-Ready pizzas at the massive stadium project, few other details have been released thus far about the sports arena’s food and beverage offerings. Chris Ilitch told the Detroit Free Press in February 2016 that the space was expected to house five restaurants, seven clubs, and 60 percent more concessions than the Joe Louis Arena. The stadium seats will also have cup holders for all that Bud Light.
The arena — part of a larger development of Cass Corridor dubbed the District Detroit — is expected to debut this fall. A new Little Caesars Headquarters, complete pizza-shaped windows, will also be unveiled in 2018.
