The opening of downtown Detroit’s newest Avalon International Breads outpost is so, so, so close. The company’s new restaurant spin-off Avalon Cafe and Bakery will open on Friday, April 14, at the corner of Woodward and State Street near Campus Martius.
The cafe will open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a bakery and grab-and-go section. Carbs dominate the menu with fancy toasts, sandwiches, grain bowls, and pizza. Sample breakfast dishes include a sausage biscuit with white cheddar and egg, avocado toast with tahini and cucumber, and a trout reuben with Swiss cheese.
And right in time for opening day, here’s your first full look inside.
Avalon Cafe and Bakery opens Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday from 7:00 a.m. to midnight, Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Breakfast menus run daily until 11:00 a.m. and Saturday and Sundays will have brunch from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
