Brush Park’s shiny new mixed-used development The Scott just landed a new tenant. Specialty cake shop and bakery, For The Love Of Sugar, is poised to fill a 1,500-square-foot space on the ground floor of the luxury apartment building, according to a release.

Owner Manal Hussein plans to bring a wide range of sweets to her bakeshop located at 3150 Woodward Avenue, including custom cakes and French macarons. The patisserie will also offer coffee and grab-and-go lunch items. Hussein expects to hire between eight and ten employees. For The Love Of Sugar is expected to launch this summer.

This is the second restaurant to be announced at The Scott. Last summer, restaurateurs Michael Abrams, Brian Adleman, and David Pittaway confirmed plans to launch an as-of-yet-unnamed, 4,500-square-foot “American-style bistro” in the northwest corner of The Scott. The eatery will feature a full bar.
