Welcome to the Plywood Report, a roundup of all the latest intel on Detroit's and metro Detroit’s coming restaurant attractions.

DOWNTOWN — Capitol Park is poised to gain yet another fresh addition to its rapidly multiplying restaurant lineup in the next several weeks. Da Edoardo restaurant group has been in the process of reviving its original restaurant, La Lanterna, in the Albert Building since last summer. Now mostly wrapped on construction, owner Eddie Barbieri tells Eater that La Lanterna is awaiting final inspections. According to reports, the eatery is slated to debut in early April. La Lanterna is expected to serve a variety of northern Italian-style pizzas, pastas, and salads. [EaterWire/Crain’s]

DOWNTOWN — Just around the corner from La Lanterna, Avalon Cafe & Bakery is finally making some noticeable progress. The exterior of the restaurant gained signage and awnings last week. The popular Cass Corridor bakeshop launched its first location of the full-service cafe in Ann Arbor last winter. The downtown Detroit restaurant is expected to open in early spring. [EaterWire]
