Three years in and acclaimed Royal Oak eatery Bistro 82 continues to rack up accolades. Hour Detroit magazine today named Bistro 82 its 2017 Restaurant of the Year.
Executive chef Derik Watson doesn’t shy away from reinventing the menu, Hour editor in chief Steve Wilke and managing editor Dorothy Hernandez write in the announcement:
It’s easy to stick to what works; it’s another thing to scrap it and start over. This dedication to the craft permeates from the kitchen throughout the restaurant.
Bistro 82 will be featured on the cover of Hour Detroit’s March issue. The magazine also announced its picks for the five best new restaurants in metro Detroit today. The list included Chapman House, Grey Ghost, Pop’s For Italian, Savannah Blue, and Katoi, which sadly was destroyed by a fire on Friday morning.
This Spring the publication will host its biannual dinner series Savor Detroit. The event showcases a week of chef collaborations.
