Soon-to-open downtown Detroit burger restaurant Loverboy has changed its name to Lovers Only. The forthcoming fast-casual establishment helmed by Voyager restaurant owners Eli Boyer and chefs Justin Tootla and Jennifer Jackson revealed the new name in a release.
Reached by Eater, a representative for the restaurant stated that the name shakeup reflects a “new direction” for the restaurant ownership and “an organic change.”
Lovers Only is slated to open on the ground floor of Bedrock’s new micro apartment building 28 Grand across the street from Urban Bean Co. and another upcoming spot Cannelle Patisserie. The menu is expected to feature “hamburgers, sandwiches, and other casual fare.”
The owners tapped Voyager’s designers Five/Eighths Architecture to bring the Mid Century Modern-influenced restaurant to life. The layout will include a walk-up service window, which was installed in mid-November. Inside diners can expect plenty of archways and globe lighting as well as checker-patterned flooring.
Lovers Only is expected to debut in “early 2018.” Stay tuned for more updates closer to the opening.
