Just over a month after reopening under new ownership, Detroit Pizza Company is once again set to vacate the Park Shelton building in Midtown. But the restaurant space won’t be pizza-free for long. The owners of Amici’s Gourmet Pizza and Living Room in Berkley are taking over the space at 15 E Kirby St #115, as Deadline Detroit reports.

The shakeup is expected to take place on January 1. Owners Jennifer Stark and Maureen McNamara, who live in the building, plan to close down the space for restructuring and will reopen at the end of the month as Amici’s Gourmet Pizza To Go. The new Amici’s location will be geared towards carryout and delivery but will also have a few dine-in tables. They plan to eventually offer beer and wine at the restaurant.

The switcheroo caps off a strange chapter for the Detroit Pizza Co., which closed abruptly in mid-August alongside Nom Nom’s Cupcake Factory. Prior to those businesses, the space was occupied by Good Girls Go To Paris Crepes.
