A new bakery specializing in cakes and macarons is slated to arrive on the ground floor of luxury apartment building The Scott in Brush Park on December 18, according to a release.
For the Love of Sugar is a 1,500-square-foot patisserie located at 100 Erskine St. from custom-order baker Manal Hussein. Her menu is expected to include a variety of sweets such as French macaron cookies in flavors like Fruit Pebbles, Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, creme brûlée, and Swedish Fish. Customers can also expect to find custom cakes and coffee at the shop.
For the Love of Sugar will join a growing number of restaurants and cafes in the area around The Scott including Grey Ghost and New Order Coffee. More food and beverage options are also in the works including a casual bar called Second Best and a location of taco chain Bakersfield. A trio of restaurateurs also previously announced plans last fall to open an “American-style bistro” in the northwest corner of The Scott.
Correction: A previous version of this story misstated the address of the bakery based upon information from representatives.
