Construction on Founders Brewing Company’s Detroit taproom is nearing completion. The brewery located in the Cass Corridor neighborhood at 456 Charlotte St. gained signage last week and brewing equipment is also visible on the interior of the building.
Reached by Eater, a representative for the Grand Rapids-based brewery could not provide a specific opening date, but confirmed that an announcement on the taproom could come as early as next week. During Founders’ initial expansion reveal, the company stated that it was aiming for a winter 2017 opening. In September the taproom hosted a hiring fair at the Masonic Temple.
This will be the second taproom for the popular Michigan brewery, known for beers like the Founders Breakfast Stout and All Day IPA.
When it’s completed, the 14,000-square-foot Detroit location is expected to feature more than a dozen taps, a patio area, and a small brewhouse that will produce beers specific to the Cass Corridor location. It will also offer food, though items for the menu haven’t been confirmed. Stay tuned for more details closer to the opening.
