Several newer eateries have been added to the mix

This year’s Dine Drink Detroit culinary event has scaled down a bit from last year’s three-week extravaganza, but in doing so organizers have focused on including more eateries in the neighborhoods rather than emphasize the expected downtown core. Founder and organizer Scott Rutterbush has also taken care to include a more diverse variety of restaurants — both new and familiar.

The 10-day event runs October 16 through October 26 and features $15 food and drink specials at all participating restaurants. This year, proceeds will go to Forgotten Harvest, the non-profit focused on relieving hunger and preventing food waste.

A launch party kicks things off 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Shed 2 at Eastern Market Shed 2. Tickets start at $15, and include food and beverage, music and a vendor market.
