Another Wahlburgers and a New Order Coffee location are headed to Royal Oak. Beaumont Health announced today that the celebrity-backed burger chain and the Detroit-based coffee bar have signed on as part of a 117,000-square-foot commercial development called Woodward Corners by Beaumont at the corner of Thirteen Mile and Woodward Avenue.
This would be the third location for Wahlburgers in metro Detroit. The first Michigan location opened in Greektown in 2016. The chain is named after brothers chef Paul Wahlberg, Mark Wahlberg, and Donnie Wahlberg, who are featured in a reality show about the restaurants.
Mark Wahlberg had previously dropped details about two additional locations in Taylor and Royal Oak during an interview with Fox 2.
New Order Coffee debuted its first location in Brush Park in July with a focus on offering a mid-point between quick-serve coffee and third-wave cafes. The shop offers a variety of espresso and coffee drinks as well as tea and snacks made in-house. The owners had previously expressed interest in opening three cafes over the next two years and have plans to renovate their “coffee lab” in Ferndale as a full-scale cafe.

The site plans call for six buildings across 16-acres near Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak including a grocery store, a five-story hotel, multiple restaurants, retail space, and a mixture of green space and “community gathering areas.” In other words, expect more announcements as the project progresses.
