Since announcing the move to Midtown nearly a year ago, Rock City Eatery like so many projects, was plagued by delays. In July, chef Nikita Sanches told Eater that the buildout was nearly complete with minor tweaks, new signage, and cleaning left to complete. On Thursday, September 8, it will finally be time to check out the space in person as Rock City Eatery opens the doors to the public.

The new location inside the former Bangkok Cuisine space offers a larger setting with a more refined, ambitious menu and experience than what’s offered in now Hamtramck. The preview menu included bone marrow with chimichurri, cauliflower steaks, blood sausage, lobster rolls, and Ants on a Log with pickled celery, peanut butter, roasted grapes, peanuts, moss, and ants.

The cocktail program led by beverage director Liz Cosby will focus on the technical side of craft libations such as fancy ice, digestifs, and aperitifs.

Rock City Eatery sits at 4216 Woodward Ave. and will open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
