While Detroit’s official restaurant week never got off the ground this year, a far more enticing local culinary event is returning with an expanded list of participating restaurants. Dine Drink Detroit returns next week for a third year in a row with a full extra week of food deals to look forward to.
The three-week event developed by founder Scott Rutterbush runs from October 4 through October 20 and features $15 food and beverage combinations at 30 restaurants across Detroit. The meals go towards a good cause too. In addition to supporting local eateries, customers at participating locations can donate $1 to the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.
Dine Drink Detroit launches with a party from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on October 3 at West Riverfront Park (1801 W. Jefferson). Tickets to the kickoff are $15, which includes food from El Guapo, Drunken Rooster, and Big Boy food trucks, drinks, as well as live DJ sets, and a small business and vendor market.
