It’s time to bid farewell to Ferndale’s short-lived burger and cider doughnut restaurant Daily Dinette. Kramer Restaurant Group has announced that the casual concept would shutter entirely today after less than a year of business.
The news comes after the casual spot’s hours were slashed in July. At the time, Kramer stated that it’s neighboring Neapolitan pizza concept Pop’s for Italian would be taking over portions of the Dinette space in order to make way for more seating, private dining space, and an expanded kitchen prep area. Now, the restaurant ownership confirms that Pop’s will consume the remainder of the Dinette’s space.
In the statement Kramer writes that while the Daily Dinette is closing, “there are plans for the concept in the near future” but “that they are not able to disclose at this time.”
Dinette was initially heralded as promising late-night option for Ferndale’s bar crowds and industry professionals, serving food 24-hours a day. But shortened hours seemed to suggest that the experiment wasn’t bringing in the volume of customers necessary to keep staff on ‘round the clock. The new private dining space at Pop’s will be focused towards parties, wine events, and pop-up dinners.
